Daytime Parenting Support

These daytime drop-in programs offer a learning opportunity for parents. Join us as our Parent Educator and guest speakers provide valuable information about family, parenting, and health issues. Children are welcome. No registration required.

Camilla Aviss, Parent Educator
Camilla Aviss is a Registered Nurse (RN), International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), parenting educator and mom of twins. She has vast experience and education in child health and mental health having worked both in public and private sectors.  Her past experiences working as a public health nurse, a nurse in the Canadian prenatal nutrition program, prenatal childbirth educator, and a lactation consultant have all given her insight into challenges families experience with young children. She has a special interest in attachment and
infant/child mental health.

Support for Parents of Infants (0 - 12 months)
Infants develop and change very rapidly and there is so much conflicting information about what to do! Join our Parent Educator and guest speakers for up to date information, tips and discussion with other parents. Infants up to 1 yr are welcome.

July 10: Ask a Pediatric ND! Join Dr. Sonya Doherty ( as she discusses any of your concerns regarding baby's food introduction, sleep, allergies & optimizing infant development.   
July 17: Join Antonella Wood, Public Health Nurse and Car Seat Technician to get your answers to any of your car seat questions!
July 24: Home safety and baby proofing, what you need to know!
July 31: Loose Parts Play for Infants. What is it and why it's important for baby's development.
Aug 7: Samin Asif from The Childcare Directory & Information Line, "How do I find quality childcare for my baby when I return to work"?
Aug 14: ”Fun Mom: 5 Simple Strategies to Becoming a More Joyful Parent”. Guest speaker: Megan Day, Certified Life Coach, Meditation instructor, Owner of Rooted & Vibrant (
Aug 21: Setting the stage for positive discipline
Aug 28: Will my baby ever sleep?! Tips on how to get the most rest for your family while accepting what is "normal" sleep for babies. 

Come out and join in with other parents as we discuss these topics as well as any other questions or concerns you may have.

Support for Parents of Toddlers and Preschoolers
(12 mos - 4 yrs)

Trying to navigate Parenting? Kids don’t come with a how-to manual! Join our Parent Educator and guest speakers for up to date information, tips and discussion with other parents. Children up to 6 yrs are welcome.
